Woodstock Entrepreneur Sets Own Course for Information Age Business Model, Releases eBook
Woodstock, IL (PRWEB) December 29 2003--Today, when you ask Scot Robnett what he would change if he had the opportunity to start his business all over again, he says he would approach it from an information age standpoint instead of using an industrial age model. When asked what exactly that means, he responded:
"It isn't the same world I grew up in. My parents encouraged me to follow the same path that they followed, which was to go to college, find a high-paying job, stay there for many years and build a good pension. The problem with this approach in the new millennium is that mismanaged or underfunded companies will just 'downsize' you, your 401K isn't likely to be enough to retire on, and don't even get me started on the state of Social Security. There had to be a better way."
So what was this 'better way'?
"I just saw that things were changing. Where it used to make sense to work long, hard hours and be rewarded for it, with the changes to our tax laws and the explosive growth of the Internet, that had less and less appeal to me. After reading many books, I'm convinced - and my business is already starting to show - that in the information age we have to leverage different tools to get ahead. These tools are the Internet, direct or network marketing, so called 'big' business, or real estate. But the bottom line is that you have to be in charge of your own business, even if it is part-time in addition to your day job.
"So I changed my entire business model to take advantage of a system and participate in a network of like-minded business owners. And to be perfectly honest I am starting to do very well. But along the way, I have experienced a tremendous amount of negativity and 'push-back' from peers, friends, and family because it's human nature to be focused on immediate gratification rather than a gradual plan. I'm not trying to kid anyone, there have been some tough times...but staying the course has begun to enlighten some of those around me.
What kind of negativity and 'push-back'?
"It's all well-intentioned, but based on fear of the unknown. Some business owners will let themselves get talked out of what they're doing because they hear things like 'Are you sure you know what you're doing?' or 'It's too risky' or '(some expert) says that isn't the right way to do it.' Well, if you let that kind of thing get you down, you don't have the emotional and mental toughness to run a business. And that's why I wrote the eBook - to help other business owners get through that same kind of negativity and influence, move forward in a positive direction, and come out on top."

First Impressions Last, Clean Impressions Last Longer
Tired of living in a jungle? How about living with brute animals? Don?t know what I?m talking about? I hold my mom responsible for that. Growing up, she would always associate our house to a jungle---and according to her that is still an understatement. Because of sheer idleness, I suggested that we try one of those home cleaning services. With a blank face, she responded that said service is only for the L&L (lazy and luxurious) and that I only possess the first L. (Ouch!) Though I?m guilty as charged! But that was before. With age creeping up on us, each second is precious. And with residential cleaning services readily available, we are given more time to ourselves, with our families and with our friends.
