While economic conditions have scaled back or put some projects on hold, industry sources state that at least 23,000 rooms are currently being built and are on target to open on time. "I'm betting that Las Vegas will continue to grow over time," said Keith Schwer, director of business and economic research at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
