Some People Are Judging the Book by its Cover

"Sure, they say you shouldnt judge a book by its cover, but let me tell you: the cover is still the first thing a person sees. And think about all of those colorful covers you see when you go to a bookstore. Do you really think the publishing companies are abiding by the idea that people arent judging books by their covers?

Of course not, and you shouldnt either. No matter how much people might try to pay attention to only whats inside something, the cover is still going to have an impact on them. Thats why you dress up before going to business events, because you might be the best at what you do, but if you dont look the part, people start to immediately doubt you.

So what about your presentations? When you have a lot of material you need to hand to someone what kind of package do you hand it to them in? Are you using presentation folder printing in order to get the best outer package that you possibly can for your material, or are you using a normal folder?

Dont think that people arent going to be just as concerned with the folder you hand the material to them in as they will be in the material itself.

This is like your presentations first impression on them. You cant take back a first impression and you want it to be as good as it possibly can.

This will shape the rest of the presentation and set the mood for things to come. If you begin by giving them something interesting and that ties into the visual design of the presentation material than youll immediately make a good impression and make them more open to what you have to say.

Of course, if your material looks thrown together, it doesnt really matter how truthful what youre saying is, theyll still be inclined to disregard you for the simple fact that it wasnt well put together.

And it isnt particularly expensive to get some presentation folder printing taken care of. Given the impact it makes, if you plan on handing out presentation material, you should immediately factor in the costs of getting folders done, and assume that cost.

I know it isnt very fair that people make judgments like this. It would be nice if the cover of the book really wasnt that important and people were willing to read through material no matter what the outer package looks like.

But you need to be aware of the same thing publishers are when they make their books. The cover is important, and you need your cover to look as good as it possibly can. Get people interested simply by looking at your material and youll make sure theyll open up your folder to see what it has to say.
