Capstone Entertainment Group LLC, Red Echo Films LLC, and Circle Star Productions Announce the Summer Production of the Feature Film DOWNCITY.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 6, 2007 -- Executive Producers Eric Keith and David Huffman, of Capstone Entertainment Group, and Dan DeLeon, of Circle Star Productions, today announced that they will produce writer/ director Paul Hapenny's cop thriller, DOWNCITY.
"After looking at hundreds of scripts and projects in various stages of development, we finally found the perfect one," said Keith, Executive Producer and CEO of Capstone Entertainment Group and Red Echo Films. "Downcity was the one to team Capstone up with Circle Star Productions, and we're all thrilled about the film."
DOWNCITY is a gritty thriller surrounding corrupt cops in Providence, RI. Corrupt Detective Tommy McCarthy and his long-time partner and friend, Alex Hawkins, are being squeezed by Internal Affairs Captain Kelly. Kelly has flipped Hawkins, holding a prison sentence over his head to set McCarthy up. Hawkins, a black cop, is married to a white woman. That causes tension between Hawkins and the overtly racist Captain. McCarthy has to use every bit of street knowledge to save himself and Hawkins.
"The script is brooding and tough. The dialog brilliant. This movie had to be made," said Huffman, Executive Producer and VP of Development of Capstone Entertainment Group and Red Echo Films. "It will be a new movie-going experience for everyone who sees it."
Production Dates: Principal photography to begin July 15th and wrap September 21st 2007 in Providence, RI.
